emberumAn lies in tiruppArkaDal on the soft bed of huge anandAzhwAn who is beautiful with a striped brilliant body. He carries SanKa., etc in His hands to protect His Baktas. He has a huge lotus flower in His tirunABi from where brahma is born. He is blue like a beautiful sapphire. This my swAmi resides in tirukkaNNanguDi where brAhmaNas read and teach four vEdas and six vEdAngas, perform daily fire sacrifices, follow the vEdic way of life by performing five yajnas (like brahma yajna etc.,) and are firm in their determination that whatever they do is to please emberumAn and it is He alone who is the nirvAhaka and BOkta.

Our swAmi who resides in tirukkaNNanguDi is the one who threw the chakrAyudha on the crocodile that caught the leg of gajEndra and dragged him inside the pond. The elephant was in agony holding the flower which he wanted to offer at the feet of Lord. He cried in pain and called loudly His names. BagavAn came from above riding on garuDa to save him. The city that He resides is beautiful with plenty of ponds, lotus, kumudam, karuneidal, Sengazhuneer etc., bloom and where tall buildings, strong forts reveal the wealth and prosperity of the city.

In the last pASura AzhwAr said in this divya dESa live brAhmaNas well versed in vEdas etc. Now he says they perform kainkarya to emberumAn (like gajEndra) who destroys their enemies i.e., obstacles (like the crocodile) that hinder the kainkarya.

When praLaya (deluge) came the whole world, the sky, the mountains etc., were submerged in the water. BagavAn took a maha matsyAvatAra (divine fish), put them on His back, swam merrily in the water. Sometimes He would swallow all the water in the scales of the fin, sometimes He would release the water and play in it. He resides in tirukkaNNanguDi where the flowers like punnai, mullai, mallihai etc., bloom in the seasons spreading their aroma everywhere when the southern cool breeze waft them.

meenuruvAhi—The gigantic fish form which is one lakh yOjana long and ten thousand yOjanas wide with a horn on its head.

meedu koNDu—emberumAn ordered for a boat in which all the seven rShis, herbs and crops and all the creatures were kept. When the boat tossed about in the deluge water by a fierce gale, He would place it in His horn.

viripunal vari ahaTTu oLittOn—The divine fish played in the water with the boat with all the created thing on His horn. He would sometimes drink all the water sometimes release it, swimming and enjoying by itself.

Once He took maha varAha avatAra, a huge victorious form, very powerful like mountain. He had white shining canine (with which He lifted Boomi pirATTi), flaming red round eyes. When He lifted Boomi pirATTi she felt happy at the samslESha and regained her lost colour. He resides in tirukkaNNanguDi where there are varieties of multistoried buildings on whose tops flag sway touching the moon obstructing his path in the sky.

payalai teerttavan—The moss in ponds is called pasalai or payalai. When the hand is placed in the pond the moss move showing clear water of the pond. When the hand is taken out, they come again to cover the water. Similarly the ‘pasalai’ colour which is caused by separation is removed by His touch and comes back when the hands are withdrawn.

‘kAdalar toduvuzhi toDuvuzhi neengi viDuvuzhi viDuvuzhi parattalAn’—kurundohai. Boomi pirATTi was separated from emberumAn when she was hidden under water by an asura. She had ‘pasalai nOi’ because of the separation. When BagavAn lifted her she regained her complexion due to His touch. (‘paNDu paNDu pOlokkum’) ‘pAsi toorttu kiDanda pAr mahaTku paNDorunAL mAsuDambil neer vAra mAnamilA panriyAm tESuDaiya tEvar’—ANDAL.

Taking vAmana roopa, a brahmachAri boy, He begged three feet of land from mahAbali in his mahAyajna. As soon as He received it with water He grew immensely and measured all the worlds with just two feet spreading Himself far and wide in every direction. He resides in tirukkaNNanguDi where there are lotus ponds with huge flowers on which sit the swans with their mates, the leaves forming an umbrella and the red paddy stalks fanning them. They look like king and queen sitting on a throne under the white royal umbrella fanned on either sides.

emberumAn took paraSurAma avatAra and killed the wicked kings of this earth of twenty one generations with His axe. He then bathed in the blood stream, and became quiet after His anger subdued. He resides in tirukkaNNanguDi where there are green forests full of cool mango trees, tall areca nut trees, bushy plantain trees with fruit bunches, jackfruit trees, kurava trees and kurukkatti creepers. There are tall buildings to add to the beauty of the city.

Sree rAma bent the bow to cut off the proud heads of rAvaNa, the king of lankApuri since he was troubling the dEvas and people as he was with the boons. He resides in tirukkaNNanguDi where there are forests in which peacocks dance in groups when the thick dark clouds make thundering noise. The bees sing beautifully for them to dance gaily.

duryOdana, the kaurava king, the son of drutarAShTra placed a golden gem studded seat for Sree kriShNa to sit in the court. Under the seat was a false flooring covered by bamboo sticks. The hole led to an underground cell where mallas were waiting to kill Him when He falls down. But the sarvESwara, the all knowing BagavAn, took a huge viSwaroopa, killed the waiting mallas and showed everyone present who He really is. He resides in tirukkaNNanguDi where the river brings in her current gold, gems, emeralds, pearls of bamboo, diamonds etc., to heap them in the fields.

anjiDAdE iDa—duryOdana never feared to do adharma and to face its consequences.

There is a divya dESa in kAncheepuram called ‘tiruppADaham’. Here is the idol of kriShNa in the form of viSwaroopa as shown to duryOdana. It is also called ‘pANDava toodar sannidhi’.

Sree kriShNa drove the huge white beautiful chariot of arjuna in the mahABArata war. He did it in order to reduce the Boomi BAra by causing the death of foes. He resides in tirukkaNNanguDi which has plenty of forest wealth where mAdhavi, surapunnai and SeNbaga trees grow. The bees come buzzing to drink the honey and sing sweetly intoxicated by it.

The word ‘maittunan’ refers to arjuna. Normally the word is used to denote a relative with conjugal rights. periyAzhwAr also uses this word ‘maitunanmAr kAdaliyai mayir muDippittu’.

About emberumAn residing in tirukkaNNanguDi tirumangai AzhwAr has sung ten beautiful poetry, beautiful garland of words. Those who read and meditate on the BAva would be rich in kainkarya lakShmi. The wealth lies in meditating on Him who went to lankApuri with vAnarasEna to ruin the city of rAvaNa, kill all the foes and get back seeta pirATTi. Similarly the Baktas will bet back the kainkarya lakShmi.
